ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Joanna Michaels
Joanna Michaels writes warm, atmospheric fiction filled with memorable places, quiet mysteries, hidden histories, and characters searching for where they truly belong.
Joanna has always loved stories about places that feel real enough to visit and characters who become friends long before the final page. Her novels explore belonging, second chances, buried truths, and the quiet courage required to choose a place—and a life—you can truly call home.
Inspired by old bookshops, winding village streets, forgotten maps, clockmaker's ledgers, and long walks through the countryside, her stories range from gentle fantasy to cozy mystery while keeping the same focus on warm-hearted characters, close-knit communities, and places worth returning to.
Some of her books take place in Ashwick, a market town where books occasionally have opinions, forests remember old promises, and rivers keep secrets longer than they should. Others unfold in quieter villages where old records, family histories, and long-kept secrets refuse to stay buried.
When she is not writing, Joanna can usually be found planning future stories, collecting far too many notebooks, and imagining what might be hidden just beyond the next lane.
